Troop parties
The unit provides all the camping equipment needed for these activities. Tents, cooking gear, and food are provided from the troop treasury. The scout needs to bring his own personal camping gear (sleeping bag, plate, bowl, cup, fork/knife, clothes, etc.) All scouts need a net bag to keep eating gear in. He can hang them up and the items will dry in it and be available when needed.
The unit will provide a minimum of two trained adult leaders for
each activity.
The heart of the troop's outdoor program is the unit campout.
Unless severe conditions are expected or encountered during the
activity, the event will be conducted as planned. Seldom are troop
campouts canceled due to weather. (Rain is the norm)
On a normal weekend campout we will leave the church at 6:30 on Friday night and return on Sunday around noon. Scouts will call parents before our arrival at the church and give them an arrival time so they can be there to pick him up.
Troop Leaders Council is responsible for planning their menu for the
weekend and purchasing the food with the assistance of an adult
leader.
Every scout must attend the troop meeting on the Monday before a
weekend outing in order to be permitted to attend the event. Parents
are welcome on all troop activities, just let the scoutmaster know
that you will be going so that food can be bought. He will need to
know before food is purchased. No brother or sisters are appropriate
at campouts. There maybe a cost to adults who attend.
